Is there a tension between values-led internal communications, ethics and employee inclusivity? – Rachael Snelling (Gatehouse Bank)

14 June – 12:10 PM

Taking a stance on global events – such as Black Lives Matter and the environmental crisis – has become so commonplace that employees have come to expect it from organisations. But if a topic is divisive, how do you go about creating discussion without alienating people? Rachael gives her top tips for facilitating conversations and delivering successful values-led internal communications.

The IoIC festival

The IoIC Festival 2023 is an opportunity for Communications practitioners to come together as a community to share their experiences, inspire each other and collectively work to take opportunities forward.  It has never been more important to communicate with clarity and authenticity, to enable shared meaning and understanding, facilitate conversation, provide feedback, and build communication that drives positive change and action which sees our people and organisations thrive.

The Festival hosts a variety of zones, so attendees can choose the content they want to see and hear:

Inspiration – here you’ll listen to keynote speeches, topical panels and thought-provoking case studies

Practical – this will be the place to go to take part in workshops, lively debates and interactive learning

Problem Solving – this area will be all about co-creation, the ‘unconference’ part of the festival, as well as ‘how to’ sessions

Coaching – you can pick up practical tips on your development here with both individual and group sessions

How to attend

This year, the IoIC festival will be held from Wednesday 14 to Thursday 15 June in the Hertfordshire countryside at Tewinbury near Welwyn Garden City. Members can book tickets via the IoIC website.
