Communicate magazine recently invited our CEO and Microsoft MVP, Suzy Dean, to share her views on what organisations should be doing now to prepare their Microsoft 365 digital workplace for AI.

In the article, Suzy challenges the assumption that AI alone will fix poor information management and findability. Instead, she explains that AI amplifies what is already there. If an intranet is cluttered with outdated and duplicate files, stale policies or disconnected site structures, AI will not resolve that complexity. It will surface it faster and at greater scale.

For internal communicators, this makes AI readiness a question of trust. When employees ask AI a question, they are likely to assume the answer has authority. But, if that answer is drawing from outdated, contradictory or poorly governed content, misinformation can spread quickly and confidence in the digital workplace can be weakened.

Suzy’s article explored why organisations need to do the foundational work before AI is rolled out: cleaning up content, improving structure, strengthening governance and testing whether responses are accurate, relevant and complete.
