We’re delighted to see Robert Walters named Class Winner in the Best Intranet category at the IOIC Awards 2026. Widely regarded as one of the sector’s most prestigious awards programmes, the IOIC Awards recognise excellence in internal communication and employee experience.
The award-winning project, Connect, was developed in partnership with our team and helped bring together more than 3,300 employees across 30 countries following the unification of the Robert Walters, Walters People and Resource Solutions brands under a single global identity.
Creating a digital workplace fit for a global workforce
Connect was launched to support Robert Walters’ “Winning As One” strategy, creating a single destination for company news, resources, collaboration and employee engagement. Prior to the project, information and communications were spread across thousands of SharePoint sites and multiple platforms, creating a fragmented employee experience.
Working closely with Robert Walters, we helped design and deliver a personalised Microsoft 365 digital workplace that brings SharePoint, Viva Engage and AI-powered capabilities together in one place.
The platform was delivered in just 12 weeks following a global discovery programme involving employees across regions, business units and roles.
Delivering measurable results
Adoption exceeded the original project targets. Within six months, daily usage reached approximately 98% of employees, with a 355% increase in unique users and more than 143,000 visits recorded. By Q1 2026, Connect had generated 306,898 visits and achieved active engagement from 100% of the Robert Walters workforce.
The platform has since become a central communications channel across the organisation, supporting leadership communications, knowledge sharing and collaboration between employees across 30 countries.
Recognition from industry judges
The IOIC judging panel praised the project’s integrated approach, highlighting how communications, technology and change management were aligned from planning through to measurement.
The judges said:
“This is an outstanding entry that demonstrates what happens when internal communication strategy, technology and change management are fully integrated rather than delivered in sequence. The objective is not just positioning, it is clearly the organising principle underpinning planning, design, execution and measurement throughout, and the results strongly reflect that alignment.”
Celebrating a shared achievement
“Congratulations to everyone at Robert Walters on this well-deserved recognition. Connect shows what can be achieved when a clear digital workplace vision is supported by close collaboration across Communications, Marketing and IT.
It has been a privilege to work alongside the Robert Walters team, and we’re incredibly proud to see the impact of that partnership recognised at the IOIC Awards.”
